This is a fantastic antique engraving coming from Harpers Weekly 1886. It is considered the best piece produced on making wine in America. It was drawn by P. Frenzeny, who was hired by Harpers Weekly in the 1870’s and 1880’s to illustrate interesting scenes in the west. He was considered one of the best western artist of the time. And his marvelous illustrations one back readership from competitive newspapers.
Every part of the vintage is shown in explicit detail. The wine press is being handled manually the Chinese are bringing in wine grapes to be pressed, the collection baskets are clearly shown, the huge barrels of wine, the stomping of the grapes and the tasting are clearly shown.
Rare Spanish Communion Wine Grapes Antique Lithographs
Rare wine Chromolithograph p74. Coming from a Spanish book published circa 1870. Entitled Variedades de la Vid Comun, or Varieties of Communion Wine Grapes. These old wine prints are Spanish chromolithographs that are full folio in size measuring about 14×22″ and they are $450. each.

Theses spectacular antique wine lithographs published Paris France, and are about 120 years old. Each and every color in the wine prints was applied in individual processes from keystone limestone plates. The plates or lithographs, were specially tooled for the color seen.
The set of antique lithographs of wine grapes are professionally framed in high gloss, flat burlwood frames. Framed with double rag matting using archival supplies and UV glass. Ampelographie: Decorative antique wine lithographs, over 100 years old.
This collection, of antique wine prints, are sourced from Ampelographie. The rare work published as an encyclopedic collection, documenting all wine grapes known, at the turn of the last century. Beautifully illustrated with colorful antique lithographs, the books published between 1897 and 1910, in Paris France. Each color seen was applied from individual keystone limestone plates. This is the art of chromo(color)-lithography(stone). The authors were Pierre Viala (1859-1936) and Victor Vermoral (1848-1927. Lithographers included A. Kreijder and J. Troncey.
